Families & Portraits
You don't need your kids to "behave" or your family to be perfectly coordinated. You need a photographer who can give clear direction, keep it relaxed, and pull great moments out of real life. That's what this is.
This category is for portraits — families, couples, seniors, and milestones — shot in a clean, modern style. Newborn sessions are not currently offered.

$250 • 20–30 minutes • 15–25 images
Mini sessions are designed for quick, focused portraits when you don't need (or want) a full hour. These work best when you have a clear goal: holiday cards, a simple family update, or capturing one specific milestone without overthinking it.
This is the streamlined option. We pick one location, keep the setup simple, and focus on getting clean, usable portraits efficiently. There's less time for experimentation or multiple groupings, but that's the point — it's intentionally focused so you're not spending your whole afternoon on photos.
- Families with young kids (shorter attention spans)
- Annual holiday card photos
- Quick profile updates or announcements
- Anyone who wants great photos without a big time commitment
We'll shoot in one location (usually outdoors for the best light). I'll guide you through 3–5 core setups — full family together, maybe a shot with just the kids, couples if relevant. The pacing is faster than a standard session, but still relaxed enough that no one feels rushed or stiff.
Typically 15–25 fully edited images delivered via online gallery. That's enough variety for your needs without overwhelming you with options. Quality over quantity.
From booking to delivery: usually 7–10 days to schedule, then 5–7 days for editing after the session. You'll have your gallery within two weeks of shooting in most cases.
Keep it simple. Coordinate colors without matching exactly. Avoid busy patterns or logos. I'll send a short prep guide when you book, but honestly — if everyone feels comfortable and looks like themselves, you're 90% there.
Usually available within 7–10 days
$425 • 45–60 minutes • 40–60 images
This is the most popular option for a reason: it's enough time to get real variety without dragging on. You'll have room to move between a couple spots nearby, try different groupings, and actually relax into the process. Most families find this hits the sweet spot between efficiency and creative breathing room.
The extra 20–30 minutes (compared to a mini) makes a huge difference. We can shift locations, change up backdrops, and capture more groupings: parents with each kid individually, siblings together, grandparents with grandkids, couples portraits. You get more storytelling, more candid moments, and more options to choose from later.
- Families who want gallery-worthy portraits for their walls
- Multi-generational sessions (grandparents included)
- Anyone wanting variety in final images
- Sessions where you want both posed and candid shots
We'll typically use 2–3 spots within a short walk of each other (or different areas of the same location). I'll guide you through 8–12 different setups, mixing posed portraits with natural interactions. The pacing is relaxed — there's time to adjust, breathe, and let kids be kids without feeling like we're racing the clock.
Usually 40–60 fully edited images. That's enough to give you real options: some for printing, some for sharing, some that capture personality and not just "everybody smile." You'll have choices without feeling buried in photos.
Scheduling typically happens within 7–10 days of initial contact. Editing turnaround is 7–10 days after the session. You'll have your full gallery within two weeks of shooting.
I send a detailed prep guide when you book. General rule: think cohesive, not matching. Textures and layers photograph well. Avoid neon or busy patterns. Comfort matters — if someone's tugging at their outfit all session, it shows in the photos.
The perfect balance of time + variety
$650 • 90 minutes • 75–100+ images
Extended sessions are for milestones, special occasions, or when you want to capture more than just portraits. These give us time to tell a fuller story: a graduate in their cap and gown and with family, multiple outfit changes, or moving between distinctly different locations. It's the option when "standard" feels too limiting.
The extra time unlocks more creative flexibility. We can shoot at multiple locations (not just different spots nearby), incorporate outfit changes, or blend lifestyle storytelling with traditional portraits. This is less about efficiency and more about capturing the full scope of a moment — a senior's personality, a family celebrating something big, or a session that documents an era, not just a day.
- Senior portraits (cap/gown + casual looks + with family)
- Major milestones (big birthdays, anniversaries, retirements)
- Families who want lifestyle storytelling, not just posed shots
- Sessions combining multiple purposes (grad photos + family portraits)
We'll plan this one together ahead of time. Maybe we start at your home for lifestyle shots, then move to a meaningful outdoor location. Or we do formal portraits first, then switch to casual looks. The session flows at a slower pace — there's room to be creative, try ideas, and not feel like we're watching the clock.
Typically 75–100+ fully edited images. You'll have variety across locations, looks, and moods. This is the option when you want options — images for printing, framing, sharing, and keeping for yourself.
Because these sessions require more planning, expect 10–14 days from booking to session date. Editing takes 10–14 days due to the higher volume of images. Full delivery within 2–3 weeks of the shoot.
Multiple looks are encouraged (and expected for seniors). I'll send a full prep guide, but plan for 2–3 outfit changes. Think about how you want to be remembered in these photos — what feels authentic to you right now? That's always the right answer.
Perfect for milestones & storytelling
Light matters more than "the perfect spot." I'll help you pick a location and time that matches the look you want.
Where I shoot
Franklin • Brentwood • Arrington • and greater Nashville. If you have a location you love, we can absolutely use it — I'll just guide the best time for light.
Best time of day
Golden hour is the classic (soft, warm, flattering), but we can also do shaded midday locations or clean indoor lifestyle sessions depending on your schedule.
You're not hiring me so your family ends up "all over the internet." I keep client privacy in mind — sharing images publicly is never assumed, and can be discussed only if you want it.
Straight answers to the questions people actually ask.
What if my kids don't cooperate?
That's normal. I build the session around movement and short "wins," not long forced poses. The goal is to manage the chaos and still deliver great images.
What should we wear?
Simple wins: neutral tones, minimal logos, and avoid everyone matching perfectly. If you want, send a quick photo of outfit options and I'll guide you.
How fast is turnaround?
Fast and consistent. If you have a deadline (holiday card, announcement, etc.), tell me upfront and we'll plan accordingly.
Do you retouch heavily?
No. Clean edits, natural skin, true-to-life color. The goal is timeless, not trendy.
Can we include grandparents?
Absolutely — and if the group is large, Extended is usually the right choice so it doesn't feel rushed.
Do you offer newborn sessions?
Not currently.
If you want portraits that feel relaxed, look polished, and don't turn into a stressful production — book a session. If you're unsure which option fits, send a message and I'll point you to the right one.
